Welcome to the winter conference of the International Academy of Management and Business – IAMB that took place on January 28-30, 2009, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Three theme lectures were presented by Linda M. Herkenhoff on “Emotional Intelligence as a Differentiator in Values Based Communication”; by Warner P. Woodworth on “Barefoot Management Methods to Counter Today's Roiling Economic Crisis among the Poor”; and by Laura R.T. Patterson on “Performance Management is the Key to Successfully Managing Marketing in a Global Economy”. IAMB extends them its gratitude and appreciation for their outstanding and well received presentations.
The conference provided a platform for professionals, practitioners, academics, educators and researchers in the various fields of management and business to disseminate and share the latest research, knowledge and experiences. This year the conference hosts scholars from 22 countries around the world, covering over 45 universities, academic institutions and businesses. The friendly atmosphere, the one on one opportunity for exchange and networking, and the multi-national exposure were cited among the top benefits from conference attendees. Each submitted abstract/paper is peer reviewed and only accepted abstracts/papers were presented. Selected manuscripts will be published in the International Journal of Management and Business, IJMB, the official journal of IAMB.
Our goal is to bring scholars from various fields of management and facilitate meaningful interactions. Hopefully this will lead to professional development opportunities for scholars and practitioners in management and business. IAMB fosters a small conference setting (under 200 participants) with multi-national delegates.
